When Khaki meets fringe

The utilitarian trend is on and it has a lot of soldiers in it’s army. it has completely taken over the high street stores, as every shop I go into is literally olive green in colour, everyone’s into it and I’m definitely no exception. I’m not sure who is responsible for setting up  this khaki brigade but I remember top designer ‘Balmain’ recently had the military theme in it’s catwalk and now it’s everywhere.

The best way to wear this rather murky trend without  looking like you are preparing for an actual war is to always break it up with complementary colours or different textures of fabric. Here I have paired with a fringe skirt to create a more flexible and fun look. I added a belt bag because in the military scenario you don’t really see anyone swinging a handbag, so let’s say i’m keeping to the real military spirit here. You could also pair with sequins, sheer lace or a bejewelled piece to give it a feminine touch. Colour-wise, you  can pair khaki with animal print, navy, grey, black(Just as I have), maroon, white and even beige etc.

If you visit the shops right now, they have Khaki in skirts, Cullotes, Bags, Tops, coats…its endless, I mean it when I say an army is buiding up out there lol! Think of Khaki as the keystone to your spring wardrobe and start getting your collection together. Thanks for stopping by….X
